Brief History of the Southern Cruisers
The Southern Cruisers was formed by Rick Perry, who is our National President, in July of 1998 in Memphis. All he wanted to do was meet a few other folks to ride with. Imagine that! Today there are over 600 chapters, including 32 in Florida and over 30,000 members. For more information from the National SCRC website: http://southerncruisers.net/history.htm

Our chapter was started by Mike “Skull” Hart in July of 2000. Mike was 1st Officer for 3 years.
First Officers:

Jeff “Sidewinder” Green
Alex Chernik
Bob “Deadeye” Goggin

First Officers must be approved by the state officer, as well as the National Board of Directors. They want to make sure that whoever is put in charge of each chapter will adhere to the club’s bylaws, which means keeping the club family friendly and active. Each First Officer can appoint as many local officers as he/she deems necessary to operate their chapter successfully.
